During spring vacation, about 120 students of Notre Dame de la Compassion went to Lourdes during
four days. The took part in an enormous pilgrimage which gathererd about 12000 cristians teenagers between 15 ans 18 years old. People from ordinary school came from all Ile de France's departements.
This year, the majority of them went to Lourdes by TGV but NDC had to take the bus: we travelled by night (april, 22 to april, 23) but not a lot of people could sleep
!!!
So, we were tired when we arrived in Lourdes, but so excited to truly begin our pilgrimage.
First, we discovered the hotel called "The Fabida".
Then, we walked to the basilica Pie X which is a huge construction underground.
We were sitting on the floor - sometimes we were packed! - but it was wonderful, because 12000 teenagers were inside the basilica! A good band called "Regard" hosted the Frat and we could sung with them.
One day, other teenagers who came from Clermont Ferrand presented a show about St François d'Assise. And the last day, we had a beautiful mass by the Grace XXIII.
When we weren't in the basilica, we had a lot of activities, for example lectures about love, drugs, humanitarian organizations, religion, spiritualism, etc...
Of course, we had time for us to do a little shopping, eat in ice-cream, meet other teenagers...
Also, we went to the famous cave where The Virgin appeared 18 times to a little girl, Bernadette.
It was very impressive and we could pray alone.
In brief, it was an excellent travel, with a lot of emotions. The best was probably the atmosphore in Lourdes' streets: imagine 12000 teenagers in the same city !!!
Moreover, the weather was beautiful, very sunny (except a little rain the first morning).
To sum up, I would say: sing, pray and meet, that was the Frat !!!
PS: You could find a lot of pictures in Internet
